Firestar lay on her back underneath the Corellian landspeeder she just bought off the dealer, fixing all the tiny broken bits in the wiring. "Hey, Artoo, can you had me the hydroplaner?" she asked her ancient astro droid who was nearby. A series of bleeps and whistles came as she held out her hand. "No, I do not need the ion wrench," she insisted. R2 blooped his disagreement. "Well if you were under here maybe you would know exactly what's wrong. The ion wrench can't fix this wire socket. Now just give me the hydroplaner." The droid whistled a warning, but finally gave her the tool. She set to work fixing the socket, then got a shock suddenly. R2 laughed at her. "Shut up, droid," she said, shaking out her hand. "I know what I'm doing." She switched the tool from her right to her left hand. One of the advantages to haved all the nerves there fried was that she wouldn't feel pain there while she was working. Of course, that was also one of the worst things. She winced as sudden spasms raced up her leg. The nerves there obviously weren't as destroyed as everywhere else, and they continually issued reminders to her of the Mustafar disaster. Not that she needed anymore. All she had to do was take the glove off her hand or look in the mirror at the left side of her face and neck to see the burn marks and scar tissue that had grown there to replace her skin. The most painful reminder, however, was whenever Jerkan looked at her. She could see the sorrow and pain and regret in his eyes and hear it in his voice. She knew he would never got over how he had almost killed her. Firestar sighed to herself and continued her work on the speeder, trying to push the painful memories from her mind.

The hood of her cloak drawn up over her head, Moon strode through the bustling crowd of her home planet. She hated it here. Hated the memories of the orphanage she had almost been cursed to live in. Although her time there had been brief, they had spawned memories which she recalled bitterly. Those other children had never understood her, understood the way she was smarter than they and tougher than they. Little did they know it was the force showing through her. She would be forever grateful to the Jedi for saving her from that pit. Moon glanced at the sky, at the various speeders and cargo craft. She had been sent here to locate a bounty hunter who reportedly was working for the rebellion. The thought of bounty hunters made Luna frown. Why her parents had taken up that particular profession, she couldn't imagine. It was a wretched job. There was just no loyalty with the bounty hunters... Stepping onto a calmer sidewalk, Luna continued on, in tune with everything around her. Tilting her head, she focused on the sound of a mechanic at work. Following her instincts, Luna directed her steps towards the noise, and eventually came upon a familiar face. She recognized the Jedi working on the landspeeder. Leaning against the air craft, Luna crossed her arms and spoke up. "Why do you hang around with this junk?" she asked, referring to Artoo. "You should update to something more proficient."
OOC: I'm not really to savvy with the world of Star Wars, so if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, it's because I don't. lol

OOC: It's okay, I don't know everything either. I sometimes pick some futuristic-sounding phrases to explain things. And I've personally completely come up with the idea of "Force gems." lol. If you're really curious, you can always do research on Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki. It's where I get most of my info on planets and stuff.
Firestar heard a voice speaking to her and scooted out from under the speeder. She wiped some grease off of her ungloved hand and smiled. "What can I say?" she asked. "I like old equipment." Artoo bleeped offendedly at Moon's implication that he was junk. Firestar laughed. "Well, you were pretty much just a bucket of bolts when I bought you out of that scrap yard on Tatooine," she told him. She turned back to Moon. "He may be ancient, but Artoo's probably the best astro droid of his kind. Whoever built him added all sorts of useful gagets I haven't seen on any other of his class." She moved around and opened up the engine of her landspeeder. "Oh, wow...look at all this corrosion. No wonder the guy sold it so cheap! I'm going to have to completely rebuild this thing!" She used the Force to move her paralyzed left hand inside the engine to search for any missing parts. "So what brings you to Corellia, Moon? Just decided to visit home?"

Jeraldi slowly walked down the old dirt road. It had been a long time since he had been to Corellia, and a very long time since he had seen is best friend Firestar too. "I wonder how she is coping with that arm?" He asked himself as he walked toward where he was told she could be found. "Why has it been so long?" He said aloud in disgust at himself as he walked into the door to find two people talking, one of them being is old friend Firestar. A sigh of happiness swept over him as he walked closer to them. "Well, well!" He said happily, "Took my long enough to find you!". He tried to remain vigilant as he saw her still struggling with that arm and her face, still beautiful, had scarred over the flesh. "If only I could have done more for her." He thought sadly as he smiled at her.

Firestar took her face out of the engine when she heard Jeraldi's voice, giving him a grin. "All you needed to do was search the area surrounding the nearest junk yard," she told him, burying her head back into the speeder's innards. She found a handfull of corroded wires and yanked them out. She was hiding her exasperation at her friend. Ever since her accident it seemed like he was constantly fretting over her. Kind of like her brother, though he couldn't afford the time to see her. She knew they both meant well...she just wished they would give her some breathing room. "Artoo," she told her droid, "There's no way I'll be able to rebuild this engine! It's rusted and corroded all over, and whatever isn't is falling off, and I think it's missing the coolant system."

Jeraldi laughed as he watched her. "Still working on junk I see?" He said sarcastically as he walked over to where she was. He took one look at the engine, being the expert he was and shook his head. "Where did you find this one, the scrap yard?" He said not giving her time to answer and using the force to pull the engine from the hull. "Here, I'll buy you a new engine. I've got some time, we can work on it together. I'm taking a little....vacation." He said as he looked at the corroded heap of metal in front of him. "Or, if you prefer, we'll work on this one. Nothing is ever "useless" when you have the force."

Firestar smirked a little when he pulled out her engine, catching the speeder with the Force before it plummeted to the ground. "Hey, I like messing with old stuff. It gives me something to do." She shrugged when he mentioned using the Force to repair it. "I don't usually use it for things that could be done physically," she told him, frowning, "I just seems a little like cheating. There are other people who can't use the Force who resort to putting it together." She glanced at the huge mess that was the engine again and couldn't help but laugh. "Although for this thing, I think the Force might be necessary."

Jeraldi laughed again as she smirked at using the force for everything. "Look, we both have injuries that makes using the force all the time "appealing". The way I look at it is we have it, we might as well use it. Use it or lose it is my motto." He said with a smile. "Not all people can use the force in a battle, yet we do because we have the ability to. Is that fair? I think so."

Firestar shrugged at his words. Jeraldi was being rather stubborn about his point of view, and neither of them were willing to back down. At the mention of her injuries, she glanced down at her gloved hand, reminded that it was paralyzed. She was only pretending it wasn't, because then she would have to be bothered over and over again by requests to get her "useless" limbs amputated and replaced with prostetics. She completely shunned that thought. A rather bleak look came to her face then, as she thought about the events that had led up to her accident. "Appealing isn't quite the word I would use for it," she told him, her eyes glazed over with sorrow. "More like 'necessary.'"

Jeraldi walked towards her as he saw the sorry in her eyes. "Hey now it's okay, it's all in the past. We have to make the best of what we have." He said thinking about how he came about his own arm injury. The beast had come out of nowhere, it was amazing the doctor was even able to give him some use of his arm again. He still saw the scars as a reminder of how Firestar had been there for him, just like he had been there for her. A smile came across his cheeks as he tried to lighten the mood. "Cheer up! We have a lot of work ahead of us." He said nudging her chin with his thumb. He had always treated her like a little sister, ever since they had met at the volcano. The truth was he didn't know how long he had with her this time. The dark council would always look for him after his rebellion and he couldn't put that risk on her.

Firestar gave him a smile when he touched her chin, her brown eyes reflecting her gratefulness. Jeraldi reminded her in many ways of her of her brother. Despite that, there was quite a bit she didn't know about him. They had only met a few months ago, not long before her accident. After that, she'd helped him after he was attacked by some animal. She took her glove off her scarred hand, then raised her hand with the Force to touch his face lightly, though she couldn't actually feel it. "Thank you, Jeraldi," she told him. Then she turned back to the engine. "Well, whatever we decide, we're going to have to go shopping. There are some vital parts this speeder needs."

He sighed as she touched his cheek. "Yes..." He said pulling out his wallet. "I've got the money, lets go shopping." He said as he walked towards the door. He didn't want to say where he had gotten the money just yet, and hoped she wouldn't ask. She wasn't ready to hear it. She would have questions, however, once she saw how much more power he had in the force, and he would have to tell her but not now. For right now, he wanted a break for it all, some time to relax. "So come on already!" He said with a smile.

Firestar blinked once at the sight of his money, wondering where he'd gotten it. She followed him out, a smile tugging at her lips. Artoo bleeped a bit and started to follow. "Stay here, Artoo," she told him. The droid protested with a series of twirs and bloops. She sighed at him. "I'll be fine; Jeraldi will look after me. You need to watch after my new speeder." R2 continued to complain to her, but she ignored him and went after Jeraldi. "So, where do you want to look first?" she asked. As she walked, there was the slightest limp in her step, the only sign she gave of her immoblized leg.

Jeraldi sighed for a moment as he thought. "I'm not completely familiar with this place. I've only been here a few times. Is there a shop that specifically caters to speeders and fighters?" He asked as they walked. "We should grab something to eat too. I've got all the time in the world."

Firestar walked alongside him as they considered places to go. "Well, most of the mechanical shops are on the east side of the city. That would be a good place to browse, but you never know about the quality of their products." At the mention of food, her stomach suddenly rumbled. She'd lost track of time while she was checking out her speeder. It wasn't the first time that had happened. "Yeah, food. Definately sounds good to me." She grinned at him.
