Aiden Moonlighter, Jedi Knight and trickster in human form, wandered the cast avenues and streets and thoroughfares of Coruscant. The planet, as always, hummed with life and activity, even in the small hours of the morning. And like most people of the city, Aiden kept his own hours. His time was not governed by the rising or setting of the system's star, but rather by his own desires. To some, he was known as a masked vigilante, to others as a Jedi who walked the edges of what was considered Light and Dark.
As he walked along one pathway raised high in the night sky, Moonlighter brooded. He was clothed in his normal attire: black pants and white shirt, with a utility harness holding various gadgets. His blue-bladed lightsaber hung at his left hip, while his non-standard-issue blaster pistol hung at his right hip. To those he passed, he would not have looked like a Jedi, except maybe for the lightsaber (if any recognized it for what it was). His steps were even, measured, and his back was straight.
Aiden reached out with the Force, feeling the hum of life all around him. The apartment structures nearby held a host of varying emotions. The streets above and beside him thrummed with trackless vehicles and transports. While he had visited Kashyyyk several times, and felt the ebb and flow of life there, the quality of the sense changed on Coruscant. To him, life here felt more electric, more hurried. It was not a place for quiet contemplation.
"Care for some goods?" a shady man wearing a heavy black cloak asked. Aiden raised an eyebrow at the man continued walking. He'd long ago given up on setting the junkies straight.
"Watcha lookin' far?" asked a woman of some unfamiliar species. Aiden ignored her too.
Man people stared after him. He couldn't tell what it was. Maybe it was his aura of Force that followed him around, that altered light sometimes. Or maybe it was the way his browns had furrowed and his eyes narrowed. Something was changing in the city. The flow of it had changed slightly. To most, especially the young or untrained, it would be unnoticeable. But to Aiden, it was his core that felt it. He'd live on Coruscant for several years at time in his short life, and he had become attuned to how it breathed. It felt as if the steady, even rhythm of rest had changed to the more energized, stronger flow of wakefulness.
Turning to the east, Aiden stopped and leaned against a rail. The sun was slowly coming over the edge of the vast metropolis that covered the entire planet. The planet itself was coming awake, it seemed, though the sun had been risen on other parts of the city. Curious and disturbed, Aiden smiled and closed his eyes, letting the sun soak him and fill him with warmth and life.

Jeraldi awoke, feeling the sun bathing his skin through the large window of his room. He had felt the desire to take a few months off of exploring, to further discover himself and his inner jedi that he had repressed and left hidden. Coruscant, so vibrant and lively, seemed like the perfect place to open himself up and become more extrovert. Jeraldi had always been a longer with the exception of a few dear friends, but that had gotten him in trouble a few times. With no one to help him, he barely escaped death more than once. It was time for change. Jeraldi put his cloak on as he exited the building, concealing his light saber as to not detract prospective friends. There was no need to conceal his force here, so he let out a huge sigh and began to let his energy flow freely from his body, opening his mind to follow more interesting and worthwhile tasks.

Aiden was leaning against the railing, his eyes closed, as he soaked up the newly risen sun when he felt someone strong in the Force suddenly appear on his mental radar like they materialized from nothing. His eyes opened and he smiled, turning in the direction that he felt the new and steady pulse of the Force coming from. It wasn't too far, only a few small blocks, perhaps an elevator or two.
As he started walking, smiling at the people he passed who seemed they would rather still be in bed or drinking a cup of coffee, he let go of his control on his power, letting it flow freely about him. As it sometimes did, the light around him bent and shifted as a physical manifestation of his Force abilities. He was strongest with illusions and Force Pull, so it only made sense, to him, that light and objects should pull towards him ever so slightly when he wasn't consciously holding on to his power. He hoped that maybe this newcomer would be friendly, but if not his abilities were ready. After all, he could harness and control the Force more quickly and more powerfully when he wasn't smothering how much of a beacon he put off.

Jeraldi suddenly turned in the direction of a new force. "Another Jedi?" He asked himself as he decided to move towards it. "They must have felt me let go of my force." He thought to himself. Maybe he would make a new friend sooner than expected, or maybe he would have to defend himself. Either way, he was ready.

Aiden looked around him as he felt the other Force wielder coming closer. He should be within sight. Aiden smiled. Deciding to play the waiting game, he walked up to a vendor nearby who was selling various drinks. Ordering one, he set himself up where he could watch the passing crowd and remain off to the side.
"Good day," he said, lifting his glass and nodding towards a man walking passed wearing a cloak and with an alertness in his eyes. The beacon of the Force seemed to be emanating from this man, or at least close by.

Jeraldi smiled as he heard a man say "Good day." off to the side, camoflouging himself into the crowd with impeccable precision. "How did I not recognize him right off the bat. I must be VERY rusty." He said almost sarcastically as he stopped in his tracks and turned to look at the man. "It's almost as if he was ventriloquism force." "Sup?" He said smoothly as he sized up the man. He seemed to be of no threat, but looked as if he could easily defend himself at a moments notice. Jeraldi, tired of always being on the offensive, decided to let his guard down and extended his hand towards the strangers. "I believe we've already met through the force, but allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jeraldi."

Aiden smiled at the man in the cloak, who introduced himself as Jeraldi. "Nice to meet you," Aiden said, extending his hand and shaking Jeraldi's. "Name's Aiden Moonlighter. Care for a drink?" Aiden leaned back against his spot and smiled. Dresses like a Jedi who doesn't want to be seen,he thought. "You been on Coruscant long?"

Jeraldi smiled as he nodded in acceptance of the drink. "About a month now." He said as they walked towards the nearest pub. "Seemed like a nice place to take a break. What brings you here?"

Aiden hid his grimace behind his glass as he took a drink. Miranda, his old mentor, had suddenly jumped into the front of his mind. Sorrow and anger started to bubble inside him again. Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm himself.
"Just trying to get away," he said, meaning more than just war. He smiled, but he knew it didn't reach his eyes. He was having more and more difficulty keeping himself from falling deeper into the Dark Side. Miranda would scold him for his weakness, showing such emotions in front of a stranger. But Aiden was growing tired of being alone, of pretending his emotions didn't exist. "Just need a vacation from time to time, you know?" Aiden grinned and whispered, "Not to mention the ladies are pretty nice, too."

Jeraldi noticed the sorrow his new friend was trying to hide. Not wanting to ruin what could become a good thing, he decided not to push anything. He then smiled as Aiden began to speak about vacation time. "I'm doing the same thing! Trying to reconnect with myself and my inner force." Perhaps they had more in common than they both realized. Jeraldi hadn't had any problem controlling his dark side and had learned to harness his power. Having a new friend could make this even easier.

"You're sounding all Jedi-like," Aiden said with a grin. "Don't let any of that 'inner Force' stuff rub off on me. I'm strictly opposed to nothing." They arrived at a small pub. Selecting a booth in a corner, with a view of the street and all exits and entrances, Aiden sat down. He leaned his back against the wall and stretched his legs out over his bench, leaning his arm and cup on the table. "So, why don't you tell me about yourself, Jeraldi. Where you from? Are you a member of the New Jedi Order, or someone who just has a strong connection to the Force who likes to walk around in cloaks?"

Jeraldi sighed. There wasn't much to tell about himself really. "I'm more of a loner jedi. I was once under the command of the dark council, not out of loyalty to the dark council but to my family. When the dark council took my family away from me I no longer felt bound by the chains and sought revenge for what they had done. I've constantly sought out peace and tranquility but to no avail and it seems at every corner a new obstacle arises and forces me to take arms again." Jeraldi said feeling good about opening up to someone who wasn't Firestar for a change. "And Yes...." He said with a dramatic pause, "I find the cloaks rather "stylish"."

Aiden remained silent as Jeraldi told his tale. "That's a rather sad story," he admitted, sipping from his drink. "But I can understand your motives. Peace and tranquility are rare commodities today, however. I can hardly give you advice, but I'd suggest standing at a rail facing east as the sun comes up. There's nothing like it." Aiden smiled and closed his eyes. "The rising sun brings with it the promise of a new day, with new possibilities."
Aiden raised his glass. "To a new day," he said, finishing his drink.
"Hey, you Moonlighter?" someone asked. Aiden looked up. He was tall, obviously human and with a look about him like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. His clothes smelled and were torn, and several stains of nefarious nature spotted the tatters.
"Perhaps," Aiden said, casually crossing his arms, which put his hands closer to his weapons. "If I was, what could I do for you?"
The man glared at Moonlighter then sighed. "My daughter ran off with some junkies. Get her back. I'll pay you."
Aiden shook his head. "If I were Moonlighter, I'd say that I can't force people to do something against their will. Your daughter chose to run off. It might not be what you want, but it's what she's done."
The man literally shook with rage. "We're not done, Moonlighter," the man said, his hands tightening into fists. "You better watch your back."

Jeraldi turned to the man. "It seems he has made his decision sir, I'd suggest you leave us be now as you are disturbing our meal....and maybe think of something you may have done to make your daughter resent you so that she'd run off like this." Jeraldi said with his hands at his sides, in cause force was necessary.

Aiden picked up his glass and called for another, ignoring the man and his impotent fury. "Please, sir. You must understand my situation," he said calmly, a smile on his lips. "I detest the junkies as much as any man, yet I cannot condemn them for their behavior. It is not up to me to judge a man, or woman. I may form opinions, but I cannot act out against them unless they bring such down upon themselves."
Aiden held out his cup as a waiter came by and filled it. "Thank you, kind sir," he said. He took a sip from his glass and sighed. "Ah, that is good."
The man, red in the face, threw up his arms and stormed out of the pub. Aiden watched him walk away, noting a slight limp in his left leg and how he favored his right arm, scarcely using his left as he pushed his way through the crowd.
