Karan... the voice whispered teasingly in her mind. Karan, come on in...you know you want to...you know how freeing it felt...come in and let me take you places far beyond your wildest dreams... Karan groaned a little as she stirred and opened her eyes. She noticed her blaster wound was healed and that she was lying on a strange couch. She smelled some cooking coming from the kitchen. Though the clear voice had receded, she could still feel the call; a teasing, mocking sort of call that felt impossible to resist. But she didn't think much about that. She would ignore it, for now. She got up and walked to the kitchen, where she saw Liam cooking. She gave a sort of smile, feeling just a little awkward. "Hi," she said. ~~~~~ Master Cloudglow sighed, walking down the halls of the Corellian extention of the Jedi Academy. He was walking with his friend and fellow master, Cloudflyer. "I'm concerned for my apprentice," he said, his words slow and dileberate. "Ever since her brother died, she has never been quite the same. I've felt anger rising in her, and even hate, though to whom or what, I'm not sure. She's still grieving, I know that, but...I sense she's closer to the dark side than I am comfortable with."

Liam finished cooking and placed the food into some common bowls. He heard Karan walk over. Turning his head, he gave a lopsided smile as he poured the pasta into the bowls. "Hey..." He was unsure what to really do...he felt awkward and tense...he still didn't know what happened while he was tortured...and why he awoke in her arms. "Umm.." He cleared his throat. "...you're just in time...I just finished cooking. I hope you like pasta?" He gave an inviting, but still embarrassed smile.
*** Cloudflyer listened as his companion shared his concerns about his apprentice. "Yes...I have sensed the darkness...to be honest, I am surprised she has kept it at bay this long...it is not easy...to lose someone you love." Cloudflyer cleared his throat. "Have you raised your concerns with the Council?" Cloudflyer bit his lips, his thoughts going to his own apprentice.
"Master Cloudglow! Master Cloudflyer!" A youngling came running up to them. "There has been news of an explosion in the westside district. A dark Jedi has harmed two Jedis! The Council has sent me to get you." He blabbered out in one breath. "Cloudtop and Cloudstrider were the injured ones!"
Cloudflyer's eyes went wide as he heard the news. He had sensed some trouble from his young Padawan, but was engaged with the Council's deliberations. He was too flared up in trying to keep the boy in the Academy to really pay any heed...and now he wished he had.

Karan smiled a little and sat down, trying to relax. Why did she suddenly feel so awkward? She hadn't felt this weird before...but now that they were alone, aparently in his house, she just couldn't help but feel a little strange. "Yeah...pasta sounds good," she said. They sat in silence for a few minutes. She cleared her throat a little. "So...are you okay? That guy didn't hurt you too much, did he?" ~~~~~ Cloudglow was shocked at the news. He had sensed some trouble, but it hadn't felt too bad. In fact, he hadn't felt her much at all. "Are they all right? Where are they?" He tried to feel for her, and found her not worse for wear, just a little...embarrassed about something.

The Youngling shook his head. "I am sorry, Master Cloudglow, but I don't know. I was just sent by the Council to get you two. Please hurry. They seem very worried." He looked at them anxiously. "Come, Cloudglow, the Council is sure to have some news on them." He began to follow the Youngling to the Council's chambers.
*** Liam sat down....poking at the food...finding himself not that hungry. When Karan asked him if he was hurt much...he stopped playing with his food and turned away. For a moment, he didn't say anything...trying hard not to remember the horror he had faced. After a long tensed silence, Liam looked up and gave a fake big smile. "Of course I'm all right. That Jedi couldn't break me that easily." He gave a laugh, but his eyes told a different story...a rather sad one. He laughed a little more and then turned to a somber mood. "Thank you....what ever you did...thanks for saving me."

Karan didn't believe his fake smile for one second. She saw the pain and sadness in his eyes, and something about it cut through her heart. Without thinking, she reached out and took his hand. "I really didn't do much of anything," she told him, "I just distracted him, that's all." Though she was only trying to comfort him, the touch of his hand made her heart beat slightly faster. But she still looked at him with concern. "Are you really all right?" she asked, "You can tell me." ~~~~~ Cloudglow followed the Youngling to the Counsel chambers, worried about what sort of trouble Cloudtop might have gotten herself into. He had never known her to willingly run into danger; she had always wanted to stay back and let her master deal with it. Her brother had been the reckless one, volunteering for missions that would put him at risk. He shook his head a little. "The one mission that should have been safe and harmless..." he muttered to himself sadly. When they got to the Counsel chambers, Cloudglow bowed from the waist at the masters gathered there. "Masters, have you any news of my and Cloudflyer's apprentices? We heard they were harmed by a dark Jedi." One master, a gold-furred Bothan, nodded. "They are safe, as far as we can tell. However, I believe both of you should keep an eye on the two of them." A female Twi'lek put in, "Master Cloudglow, your apprentice was observed handing Cloudstrider one of her lightsabers for use. Cloudstrider's own saber has been confiscated as punishment for his most recent unruly behavior, is that not so, Master Cloudflyer?"

Cloudflyer bowed and listened as the Council talked. He nodded when a question was directed at him. "Yes. I believe we've already discussed the matter. I was on my way to collect Cloudstrider so that you may tell him the news yourselves. Since...I am biased against your choice..." He replied honestly. (OOC: Do you mind if I be the Council for a bit when they talk to Liam? I have an idea that will probably push Karan over and Liam towards his origins...but that'll be later, once we get those two to the council. =D )
*** Liam smiled softly at Karan's concern, not knowingly, he placed his other hand on top of both their hands. Her touch gave him a shock that pleased him. "You made him stop..." He told her, as his hand rubbed against hers. He sighed, feeling odd that he felt so comfortable in sharing what he was about to share. After another long sigh, he related the memory that he saw...and the pain he felt. "I never really thought about my mother...or my father...I just figured that they left me....but now...I wonder...." He let out a sigh. "I don't know why I never remembered her....how sick is it? That I'm slightly grateful for that mad man's torture? If he hadn't shown me what I forgot...i would never have known of my mother's sacrifice." He glanced up at her, his green eyes looking at her for some kind of comfort.

Karan smiled at him, though she was silent for a moment. "At least you remember her now," she said quietly, "and that's what's important. As long as you keep her in mind, it'll be like she's still alive." She sighed a little. "Sometimes it feels like I can hear my brother's voice whispering to me through the Force. I don't know if it's real or if I'm imagining it, but it's very comforting." She started to choke ever so slightly as she thought of Corran, tears starting to prick her eyes. "I miss him so much," she whispered. ~~~~~ OOC: sure, you can be them. There are five members, and they can be any race you want. lol, so far we have a Bothan and a Twi'lek. lol, so the races don't matter. "This we know," the Bothan master said, sitting back in his seat. "Bring them to us, both of them."

Liam took his hand and gently wiped her tears. "I know. I cannot imagine what it's like, but I want you to know, that I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere." He left his hand there, on her cheek, his eyes watching her intently.
*** "It will be done." Cloudflyer bowed and exited, really not wanting to put Liam through this...but the Council said it was for his own good...and he was ready for it...but that didn't mean it would be easy.

Karan sniffed a little, stopping her tears. She felt his hand on her face, and found it very comforting. Before she even knew what she was doing, she found her lips settling against his. They stayed there for a moment, then she pulled away. "Oops," she said laughing a little, "I didn't expect that to happen." ~~~~~ Cloudglow left the counsel chambers with Cloudflyer to find their apprentices. It was at that moment that he realized he didn't know where Cloudtop was. Since she apparently didn't wait at the warehouse, he lost any idea where she would be. Maybe she stayed with Cloudstrider, he hoped.

Liam was shocked when he found that her lips had touched his; the feeling was exhilarating! (OOC: boys....lol) He gave a small chuckle. "Um...yeah...neither did I, but I have to say, I wouldn't mind that again..." A sly smile formed on his lips. "I think we should try that again." He leaned closer and kissed her. (OOC: LOL!!!!!)
*** Cloudflyer made his way with Cloudglow to Liam's apartment. He sensed his Apprentice had taken refuge there.
They hurried over and Cloudflyer opened the door, as he was accustomed to doing, and stood rigid with what he saw next: Cloudstrider and Cloudtop embraced in a kiss.
Liam heard his door open and before he knew it, he pried his lips away from Karan and looked at his Master with embarrassment. "Uh....Hello, Master." He gave a nervous grin.
OOC: I'll give you a chance to issue ur reaction, and then! the climax! mwauahaha!

OOC: lol! I love that post! What a time to barge in...lol
Karan smiled as he kissed her again, feeling as if she were about to float away. Then she heard the door open and they both pulled away quickly. She saw both their masters there. Both of them looked just slightly shocked, Cloudglow especially. "Cloudtop...wai...wha...what are you doing?" Karan gave him an embarrassed smile. "Sorry, master," was all she could say. He gave her a strange look. "Looks like we have something to talk about later. Right now, though, we need to get going. The counsel as requested both of your presences."

OOC: Isn't it?! I thought it might put a smile on your face. hehe.
"Cloudstrider. Move." Cloudflyer pointed out the door. "It is time you hear what the Council has deliberated for you."
Liam gulped and slowly got up from his chair; his eyes diverted to Karan from time to time. He followed Cloudflyer's finger and went out the door.
The four went out the door - the two Masters on the side and the two Apprentices in the middle. They walked in silence, although, Liam swore he felt tension rising from all of them. He glanced over to Karan, who was on his left, and gave a small smile to her.
After a while, they finally arrived at the Council's chambers. Cloudflyer ushered them all in. They respectively bowed to them and awaited for what they wanted.
(OOC:I'll address Liam first, and then you can get off on Karan. lol)
"We have discovered many interesting things these passed few days, we have. but that is another matter." The Bothan stated. "I am sure, Cloudstrider, that you are anticipating your punishment." he sighed. "Unfortunately, Jedi Rogue, the Jedi Academy has no more to offer you. From this moment on, you will return to Rogue Moon." "WHAT?!" Liam shouted out. "You're kicking me out?!" "The Council has decided that it would be better if you return to your home." "THIS is my home!" Liam shouted again. "Liam. Please." Cloudflyer pleaded. "You allowed this? My mentor?" "Please do not make this harder than it is, Liam. You must return home. There is nothing the Council can do for you here." He turned away, finding it very painful to put Liam through this. The Council assured me he would be well...and that this must happen.
"The Force has need of you elsewhere, Liam." Another member of the Council spoke, using his given name, and not his Jedi, which made Liam's heart break more. "Am I no longer a Jedi? Have I wasted 20 years?" "Jedi or non, you will retain the knowledge til your death. The matter is settled. You leave immediately. We have arranged a companion for you on Rogue Moon." The Bothan continued.
Liam clenched his fists, speechless, confused, and angry.
It was then, the Bothan turned to Cloudtop... (OOC: okay! your turn!)

OOC: mwahahaha! Now it's time to get angry!
Karan felt her heart drop far down when she heard that Liam was to be sent back to the Rouge Moon. He wasn't a Jedi? Would she never see him again? She was just starting to think, maybe she had found something better in her life, someone to think of as more than a friend...someone to help her forget the loss of her brother. She was about to open her mouth in protest when the Bothan turned his eyes on her. "Cloudtop, we are aware that you gave Liam your one of your lightsabers for use as you were going to the blast site of the earlier explosion. It was obvious, then, that you knew he did not have his own lightsaber, am I correct?" Karan grit her teeth together. "Yes, master," she said quietly. "And did you or did you not know that the reason for this was because his weapon had been confiscated as punishment for earlier unruly behavior?" "Yes, master." "Then you knowingly and willingly supplied him with a lightsaber during his punishment. As a result, you yourself need to be disciplined. Master Cloudglow will therefore confiscate your lightsabers and train you as he sees fit without them." Karan felt first shock, then uncontrolable anger rush through her. She turned to face Cloudglow. "WHAT??!!!! Master, don't! Please!" "I'm sorry, Cloudtop. I need to take you sabers. It won't be for long, you'll have them back." He reached out his hand for them. Karan's eyes took on an angry cast. "You really expect me to do this? After all you've done? You yank me out of my apartment today when I was perfectly fine there and leave me alone at that warehouse...you stand idly by, not even trying to stand up for Cloudstider as they talk about sending him away...you sent Corran on that mission which caused him to die...and now you are going to take away the only thing I have left of him?!" "Cloudtop...Karan, please, it'll be all right. Just give me the weapons, just for a little while. I'll take care of them." The look in Cloudglow's eyes reflected his worry. Karan unclipped the lightsabers from her belt and ignited them, the twin red blades glowing in the dark room. "If you want them, come and take them," she said in a low voice. Cloudglow shook his head. "Don't do this, Karan, please." "What?" she taunted, "are you afraid of being beaten by your apprentice? Huh? C'mon!" She lept toward him and slashed hard. Cloudglow lit his own lightsaber and blocked hers barely in time. He didn't intend to harm her, only to disarm her. He was worried. There was a certain ammount of aggression in her fighting, something she had never had before. She attacked him with a vigor rarely seen by anyone. She pushed him back around the counsel chambers, out the door and back in, never slackening in her relentless attacks. Eventually, she caught his blade between hers and twisted it out of his hand. The lightsaber fell harmlessly away as it went out after it left his hand. Before he could retrieve it, she stepped up close to him, one blade at his throat, the other at his heart. She hesitated for an instant, staring into his eyes, which were now sorrowful. Then she ran her blades through him. For a second, he was there. But after the glowing sabers went through, he vanished, fading into the Force. Karan looked up from the Jedi robe that was left there. She glanced at everyone in the room, all of whom were staring at her in shock. Had anyone noticed her eyes, they would have seen that they were no longer the bright blue they had been. They were deep red eyes. Sith eyes. After lingering for a moment, her eyes caught on Liam's for a half and instant, she turned off her lightsabers and fled the room, hate and fury being the only thing on her mind anymore.

OOC: I'm assuming that's the end of the thread, so I'll go ahead and send Liam away. lol But man...that was intense....I didn't think she killed him and I had to reread it! lol wow.
Liam stood there, shocked at what Karan did. He wanted to intervene, to calm her down, but Cloudflyer placed a firm hand on his shoulders, not allowing him to do so. He caught a glimpse of her eyes right before she ran off...they were red...not blue...they were so full of hate and torment. He was conflicted with his own emotions that he didn't realize that his Master released his grip and headed after Cloudtop.
There was relentlessness in the Council chambers as they all stood and began to take some action. One of them, the Bothan, took him by the hand and led him to the port ships. Everything was hazy and incoherent when he was on the ship. The Bothan murmured something to him...something like "It was meant to be. It was too late for her. They had forseen it." He couldn't process any of it...all he wanted was to see her again...to hear her voice and laugh.
The next thing he knew, he was on Rogue Moon. He wandered the small moon for hours, lost on himself and on Karan. He didn't realize that he had wandered onto the cave that was embedded in his memory. He glanced up, stared at it, feeling more pain. He sat down on a boulder, wanting to cry. "Release your grief for her. It will only bring you madness." A female voice sounded behind him. Turning, he saw a woman, glowing with the Force (no doubt she was dead and one with the Force). "Who are you?" "Your training in the Academy is over. It is time to leave your foolish behavior behind and to embrace your destiny...Riyo." Liam's eyes widened, realizing that it was his mother's spirit before him. "There is a great darkness approaching the galaxy. Even now, the Force can sense the shadow looming towards us. You have suffered, my son....a path I had wished you not have known. But the Council has sent you to me, on my request, for your heritage possesses a power equal to the Skywalker legacy." Liam just stood there, shocked. "It is time, my son, to begin your training." Starlight's eyes seemed to have peered through Liam's soul. It was then, he consented, vowing in his heart that he would train hard and embrace his destiny....and save her. "I am ready." He stated with firm resolution.

OOC: lol, I'm almost through. I pretty much just need the conclusion. Oh, yeah, and can you have Sirius pretty much teach her what it is to be a Sith? She won't be his apprentice, exactly. At least, she won't call herself that, but she needs some info on the Sith ways and to get some missions and stuff. lol
Karan heard the activity in the counsel chambers behind her, but she did not turn. To turn would be to show weakness. But she wanted so badly to see Liam one last time, despite the shame she felt when she had briefly caught his gaze. But she couldn't. She wouldn't. She would never go back, never return to the Jedi ways. She was...a Sith now. Through and though. She ran to a docking bay of Corellia and hired a pilot to take her...somewhere...anywhere but here. They cocky young pilot, named Jacen Skywalker, agreed, not asking any questions. As the ship took off, Karan found herself staring into a mirror she had with her. She stared into her red eyes, so unfamiliar, yet they reminded her of herself. "I am not Cloudtop anymore," she whispered to herself, "Nor am I Karan Horn. I am...Blacksight, for I cannot see the path ahead of me any longer." A tear fell out of those red eyes, but quickly dried, and was replaced by a hard gaze. *** Master Cloudglow is dead. I killed him. I hadn't thought I could actually do it, but I did. He is defeated and fallen, and has faded into the Force. Just before I killed him, I hesitated. Not because it crossed my mind that it was wrong to kill him. Not out of any compassion for him. No. I hesitated so I could look into his eyes, so he would know that he had lost. That he was dead. Like Corran... It was in that moment, I think, that I actually stepped into the dark side. I felt it embrace me like a long-lost friend, and it told me to destroy him. I have descended from the Cloudtop, and now with Blacksight I wander through the dark.
