This is mostly because I'm bored. lol. First, I was wondering what everyone's general age is (you don't need to be specific, and I have a basic idea of some of you). Second, what is everyone's career choice (aka: what's your job). And thirdly, how many of you know that I'm a stickler for grammar in stories and papers (don't care about casual conversations or text messages)? So, here's a little blip lol.
There, their, they're. It's, its. Your, you're. Two, to, too. Is, was, will be. blah blah blah lol.
"You're very tall," she said. "Is that your frog over there? Or is it theirs? Oh, they're here? It's a very cute frog. Is that its only habitat? Oh, you have two? I think two would be too many. Oh, it was lonely? Will there be another?"
You get the idea lol. I think I got all of those I listed lol.
And, because I'm kind of a "neat freak" about some grammar things, I'd be very grateful for some occasional grammar checks. I mean, it's not like you have to, or need, to proofread every post (even I make some obvious mistakes), but some things can be avoided. Mainly comma and period location in dialogue. Like in the example above, it is "You're very tall," she said. The comma goes inside the quotation if it is to be followed by further indicators, in this case "she said." Which brings up period placement in quotations. Periods also go inside the quotation when it is ending a sentence ( "I'm tired." not "I'm tired".) You guys haven't been making that mistake. But I have caught a few of '"You're tall." she said'. Make sure if you're continuing the sentence that you use a comma before the end quotation, and not a period.
Okay. Boredom somewhat alleviated lol. Hope I don't bug or bore you guys. I can talk all day on grammar, even though I hate studying it. lol
