Kali saw the girl's leg buckle.
"Okay," she said. "She really needs help." She sighed. No, she wouldn't let her good side win this time...she wouldn't!
Next thing she knew, she was running as fast as she could after the girl, calling out to her. What did her body think it was doing?

Matthias stopped and Listened, opening himself up to the dark side of the Force permeating the old Academy. He could feel the various small creatures living in the vacated rooms, from mice-like vermin to spiders. There were also larger creatures, borne of the dark energies and thriving on the shadows, that occupied the lower levels of the Academy. They would not threaten him on his search; he was a true Sith, their master.
He felt the Jedi woman enter the Academy grounds, the very dark energies in the place acting as an alarm and deterrent. He smiled to himself as he felt her stumble, then growled as she continued forward. Stubborn woman, he thought, throwing open a large set of doors with the Force; the strength of the blast broke them into pieces.
Inside, the room was wide and spacious, containing several cases which held old holocrons and even older books. He walked among the ancient artifacts, feeling the power radiating from some, helping to cloud the true nature of the place from others' minds. He smiled as he walked, his hand outstretched to trace along the many books and holocrons.
He was getting closer.

Jeraldi quietly hovered over a dry, deserted, rocky area on the planet Korriban. He wasn't quite sure what had led him to this planet. It was as if he was pulled, pulled by some dark power that seemed to have control over his body. He had rebelled against the dark side long long ago, but sometimes he could feel himself being pulled back in. The desire to do evil still remained in his heart and he had to fight to win over it. This, however, was something he almost couldn't control. He felt the dark power pulling him, and it was more curiosity than anything, that brought him here. His mind swarmed with thoughts of evil as he sat down, attempting with all of his might to overcome. Jeraldi looked around as he finally landed his ship in a safe hidden area. This was a planet known for it's dark forces in the past, and it made sense as to why he would be drawn here. He walked out of his ship. He was working so hard to control his anger that he thought nothing of hiding his force. Anyone who was sensitive to the force within a 250 mile radius could feel him. Jeraldi mindlessly walked, having no idea where he was headed, but rather being pulled as if he did know.

Matthias felt a sudden spike in the Force. Someone very strong in the Force had just landed; the pull of the Academy was stronger.
Grumbling that he would rather have taken his time, Matthias hurried his steps. The artifact was closer, so much closer. He could feel its power pushing against his skin like a physical barrier. So much power.
The soft sound of crunching rubble echoed through the halls with his every step. No other sounds arose. No soft stirring of curtains, no flapping blanket, no opening or closing doors, just footsteps.
Matthias let out a gasp as he rounded a corner and came into direct contact with the power of the artifact. It pushed him back against the wall, radiating pure dark energy in waves of euphoric power. Shuddering and breathing in the power, Matthias let it roll through him, fill him. The artifact ceased to push him back, rather pulling him closer with a wordless summons. Each step brought him closer to that power, and each step increased his own strength as he began to pull the dark energy of the artifact into himself. More, more, moremore!

Jeraldi gasped as he felt an immense pulse of the force illuminating for a central location. This power felt so dark and unstoppable. Someone was up to something, and he could feel the force pulsating from his veins as he tried to control himself. Suddenly he screamed loudly as he sent an illumination of the force spiraling through space itself. He had never felt this before, and he wondered why he felt it now. He continued walking, knowing that this force was so strong that it could lead to his demise. He tried to stop his feet, to just leave this planet and never return, but it was as if he was zombified, but in full control of his body. He had an inexplicable urge to discover the source of this power, and the wielder of it.

Matthias screamed in glee as he felt the last dregs of the Force flow from the artifact into him. He had never felt stronger, more powerful, more alive! Everything else seemed inferior now. How could he ever be defeated?
"Ultimate power is mine," he said, his breath steaming slightly. He didn't realize he had been floating until his feet touched the ground again. The object before him, a simple iron rod, glowed a faint violet color. It pulsed as he moved closer. Reaching out his hand, Matthias took the rod in his hands and held it close. The power within him, a moment ago surging like a violent storm, calmed to a steady cadence. It settled into him, no longer struggling against his control. He felt his mind burning with it.
"All mine," he whispered, spinning about. "ALL MINE!" Shouting in glory, he called upon the Force and shattered the iron rod into thousands of pieces. The power within him surged briefly once more before calming and returning to his command. "Mine." He looked about and saw a vase that seemed to be mocking him. "How dare you?!" he shouted, casting a bolt of violet lightning at the insolent vase. It shattered. Other objects began to mock him with their stares. "You think you're so much better?" he accused, pointing at a crumbling chair. "Can you do this, you pathetic cretin?" He lifted the chair high into the air using the Force, then shredded it into pieces. "Let that be a lesson to all of you!" he shouted to the watching furniture.

Jeraldi stopped walking as he could feel that the power that once stormed out of control had now been harnessed and subdued. Someone had taken control of it, and now he was possibly the strongest being in the universe. Suddenly he felt a madness rush past him as he could feel the power all around him. The person yielding this force seemed to have gone insane with power and was destroying anything and everything. "Maybe I should just let bygones be bygones." He thought to himself moving to turn around and head back to his ship. He turned his head back around looking in the direction of the force. "Hundreds of thousands, possibly even millions of people are going to get hurt, but why should I care about them? What are they to me?" He said hatefully as he thought of all the wrong they had caused him. He was a loner, not many people liked him. He turned back around walking towards his ship. Suddenly he stopped, there were a few in this universe that did care for him. A few people he cared about as well, and for the sake of them alone he needed to see what was going on, and attempt to stop any hurt that could come to them. He turned around and using the force began to move swiftly towards the direction of the unstoppable force.

Matthias sauntered from the room, glaring at the furniture. Pathetic slaves.
He could feel the presence of the Jedi woman a few floors above him, as well as some other alien woman following. But it was a strong Force signature from outside the academy that caught his attention; it was dark and beautiful.
"Some fun," he said with a smile as he proceeded to leave the academy, heading in a different direction to take him away from the women and towards the new source. "Perhaps a willing apprentice."

Jeraldi stopped suddenly, as he could feel the force moving in his direction now. "What should I do?" He thought to himself as he finally decided to keep moving. The force seemed to be subdued for now, like the person yielding it was now occupied with something else, keeping his mind off of pure destruction of the entire universe. "Maybe that's it!" Jeraldi said as he kept walking. "Maybe I can convince this person, in some way or another, NOT to destroy the entire universe, if I can JUST keep him occupied on one, minute thing, maybe for long enough until I figure out something else to do."

Matthias quickly found his way to the surface of Korriban. Light and sun were harsh; he thanks his combat suit for helping keep his skin protected.
"Ah," he said, turning his helmeted head into the wind. "There he is." He could see a man coming towards him, pulled, no doubt, by the power of the dark side of the Force.
Confidently and casually, Matthias began to walk towards him, flicking boulders or other obstacles from his path using the Force. It was child's play.

Jeraldi sighed as the man obviously knew he was here. "What will be my first move?" Jeraldi thought to himself as he approached. The man appeared to approach in a non threatening manner, as if he had a plan for Jeraldi. Jeraldi tried to size him up, to understand him, but the look in his eye said that he was basically a lunatic, not afraid of anything and willing to destroy everything. "Well" He thought to himself, "If you can't beat em', join em', that is, until you can find a way to beat em'". "Hi, my name is Jeraldi." He said to the man, nodding his head in greeting.

Matthias tilted his head to the side, studying the man before him. He was tall and seemed to be in good condition; and Matthias could feel the Force bubbling around him.
"My name is Matthias Blackmore," he said, looking past the man to his distant ship. "No doubt you have felt what has transpired here, in the ruins of this ancient holy site. What have you concluded?" Matthias used the Force to pull a large boulder closer, then push it into the ground until it was of the proper height to serve as a seat. Then he sat and leaned back, his twin lightsaber hilts still easily accessible, watching Jeraldi.

Jeraldi knew it was feeble to attempt anything but kindness towards this man. "Well, word of your name as traveled across the galaxies an I've heard of it once or twice. No one, however, has prepared me for the enormity that is your force." Matthias seemed as if he enjoyed flattery, and Jeraldi figured it was his best move. "The force that is illuminating from you is what drew me to this planet. But now that I am here I don't know what I'm doing here."

Matthias, flattered by Jeraldi's words, stood and shook his head. "I thank you for your praise," he said, placing a hand on Jeraldi's shoulder. "But I think it is misplaced. You know perfectly well what has happened. My power was great before I came to this planet. But it has been exponentially increased by an ancient Sith artifact. You could feel it's power; it is what drew you here, not me. But now that the artifact has become me, I guess your statement is partially correct."
Matthias pondered what to do. He was more powerful than anyone remotely nearby, including the next several planets surrounding Korriban. But he was not invincible. He needed allies, strong allies. Jeraldi was indeed strong in the Force; perhaps he could be useful.
"Tell me, Jeraldi," Matthias said, looking back towards what could be seen of the old Sith Academy. "What is it you value more: fear or courage?"

Jeraldi contemplated the question presented to him. "I believe fear and courage coincide with one another. Without fear, there can be no courage and without courage there can be no fear. There are those that hold the fear, and those that have the courage to look past the fear towards the bigger cause." Jeraldi said as he attempted to study Matthias' movements and facial expressions.
