Zane nodded, "Well, seems like they just checked out the ship, at least there was a massive spike in The Force, and they seemed to be happy. I'm sure that they're all three asleep or close to it, so there really is no need to rush back." he said as a matter-of-fact. "You don't want to know what I'll be doing, it's stupid, risky, and I could very well die doing it." he said, again, waving his fingers and showing off the burnt ring of skin on his finger.

Kali looked at the burnt ring of skin. "What happened?" she asked. She trusted what he said about her team was right. She had no way of knowing whether there was a spike in the Force. It was like she was blind, not that it mattered to her. She had other ways of knowing things Force users tended to overlook.

"That would be for me to know, and you to maybe one day discover for yourself, if things go well that is." he said with a mysterious grin

Kali couldn't help the grin that spread across her lips, although she tried to keep it under control. "Well, then, I look forward to it." She gave him a wide lopsided grin.

The grin left Zane's face quickly, "Don't be so sure of that. Not many people can do it, and it's something that should be considered for a long time before the final decision, cause once you say yes, there's no turning back, no redo's, there's only death."

"That's too bad," said Kali. She became serious very quickly. "You know, I understand death and destruction probably better than you think I do. I've built myself from it. I would not be who I am today without it, although there are times when I wonder what it would be like if I'd lived a normal, happy, life."

"Ah, I can sense you've had it hard, but that's what makes life worth living, is it not? If everything were handed too us then we wouldn't be a Jedi and a assassin and wouldn't be having this conversation and lovely meal." he said, trying to lighten the mood. Good, she was talking about her past, hopefully he could get her to tell him what happened and who was responsible for it.

"Yes, that's right, ain't it?" said Kali. "And thank you for this lovely meal, I did fully enjoy it." She sent him a warm smile.

Zane smiled back, "It was nothing, really. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and that you trusted me enough to come along." He had to get more info out of this girl, but he really didn't know how to go about doing it.

"You're welcome," said Kali. "Although, I really probably should be heading back..." Her voice trailed off. She didn't want to, but it was probably a good idea. She had a job to do.

"Well if you feel that way go ahead, you'll find that if you need any parts for the new ships, just say my name and you'll get it, and the owner will put it on my tab. It does pay to have friends around here." he said with a wink, finishing off his tea and moving to help Kali up.

"Thank you," said Kali, who felt uncomfortable for a moment. She wasn't used to people helping her up, but she read his facial expression as chivalrous, so she appreciated it. "Thank you for all you've done for us, too." She wondered where all the money was coming from. She'd always had to work hard just to get by, although there were times where she did squander her money. One thing she wished she'd learned was money managing.

"You're welcome, and if you're ever in needs, just holler, I'll be around" he said, walking with her out the door. He escorted her to the hangar where the ship was, punched in the code and disappeared as she walked in, but making sure he could see her as she inspected her new ship.

"I will," said Kali, turning back to him. "I don't know how you'll hear, but I trust you'll be there. There are many things I don't understand about the Force." She paused for a moment, before shooting him a look that clearly said "thank you." She wasn't used to kind people, but she liked it. She just hoped she could repay him someday. Debts were always bad.

Darius' sleep was plagued with misted dreams and shadowed figures standing within a large ruined tower, surrounding several rectangular objects laying on the ground and a central dais, upon which rested a glowing triangular protrusion, pulsing garish blue light. One of the figures, taller and bulkier than the others, stepped forward, over one of the rectangular objects, towards the pulsing pyramidical object. The figure's shadowed hands reached out, the blue light casting its brilliance against marred and scarred flesh. The figure's hands seemed to shrivel, to wither and age in the pulsing light. With an inhuman hiss, the figure jerked its hands away and stormed away from the others, disappearing into the surrounding ruins. The remaining figures turned as one and slowly disappeared into the mists, inky shadows lingering in their places.
Darius shot up, wide awake, his head pulsing in agony and his body bathed in sweat. His throat felt raw, as if he had been screaming in pain and sorrow, but he heard nothing, only the hammering of his own heartbeat. He looked around, but saw no one, only sensing their presences; none seemed to have been stirred by his sudden return to consciousness. Rubbing his temples and trailing his fingers over his head, weaving them between his horns, Darius slowly stood up. It was in the early hours of the morning, perhaps a few before sunrise, but he knew sleep would not find him again that night.

Matthias woke early, before the sun had yet to cast its menacing glow upon the surface of the moon. He hated the sun and its brilliance, how it eroded the shadows and dark corners of people's fear. Night was his home, his lover, soothing and calm to his touch, pliable to his wishes. Daylight was the realm of the so-called 'upright' and 'just'. Let them have it, he thought. I rule the night, which they are too afraid to venture into. He was still alone, but he felt he would see others soon. There was a convergence of power approaching, a gathering of the strong which would destroy the weak. A smile touched his lips as the scent of blood reached his senses. It would be a day to remember.
