Jeraldi awoke a few hours before daylight to see Darius prancing around. He could tell something had stirred Darius awake and that he was a little disturbed. Jeraldi got up and decided to go outside and do a little early morning training. The dawn hours was the best time for him to use the force.

Kali walked around the hangar. She couldn't sleep; there was too much to think about. She got lost in her reverie, and must have fallen asleep somewhere in a corner when she heard a noise. Awaking with a start, ready to defend herself, she saw Darius in the dim light. She immediately jumped up.
"Darius!" she called after him, sleep still clinging to her eyes. Something was wrong, she couldn't say how she knew, but she just...knew. Maybe it was something about the body language.

Hearing Kali shout out, Kvotha resurfaced to the world of the conscious. Lying there tensely, barely awake, she listened closely to see if anything was terribly out of place. She waited, struggling to stay awake in the thin hours of the morning. "Wha' is't?" She slurred out as she fought to open her eyes. Glimpses of floating images of the ship filtered through her mind but she was confused if they were images of the night before or if she was actually seeing. "Kali? Darius?" She asked again, panic surging through her.

Darius heard Kali call his name from outside the ship. He wondered how she could have seen or heard him from out in the hanger. He pushed the thought from his mind and continued his pacing. The dream, or nightmare, unsettled him. He couldn't put his finger on it, but there was something in the dream that reached out to him; but there was also the icy cold grip of fear reaching out from those shrouded figures. Shuddering, Darius turned his attention to Kvotha. He had heard her call out for him and Kali, and it was something he could focus himself on, putting the dream from his mind for a time. "We're here, Kvotha," he said as he entered her space. He knelt down beside her bed. "You alright?"

Kvotha felt a presence beside her and shook the rest of the sleep from her mind. She tried to look at Darius as she heard him speak to her, but everything was dark. She squeezed her eyes shut and then open again. Still seeing nothing, she reached her hands up to make sure her eyes were actually open. They were. Another surge of panic flashed through her.
"I don't... I don't think I can see," her voice was quiet as she tried to calm herself. She closed her eyes completely and focused, clearing away the memories from the night before. The images of the ship disappeared. After a few deep breaths, she opened her eyes again. All was dark. The few seconds of calm she'd conjured quickly fled and Kvotha breathlessly repeated herself. "I can't see. Darius, I can't see."

Jeraldi appeared from outside the woods as everyone was creating a crazy commotion. Sweating from his intense training, he cleared his throat and spoke. "What on earth is going on?" He asked as he looked around at them.

Kali realized she'd been dreaming again. As she truly awoke, she was quite groggy, but she could make out Kvotha's voice. Where was she?
"Kvotha?" she called out, since Darius was just a figment of her imagination before her dreamy eyes. She stood, and began walking.

Kvotha heard Kali and Jeraldi join in the fray. She sat up, feeling dizzy, and gulped down her panic. "I've gone blind," she said in wonder, her voice trailing off as she was momentarily lost in thought. "I believe this is because of last night, the influx of power and memories that I channeled may have been too much for my brain to process. We can't dwell on my blindness though," she continued as she pushed her own needs away. "It may only be a momentary effect. If not, I will learn to cope with it. What is important right now is that we get to Dxun as quickly as possible."
Taking a deep breath, Kvotha turned towards where she had last heard Darius' voice. "Darius, you're the one heading this mission. You should make last minute preparations and make sure we have everything we're going to need for this trip. Jeraldi, maybe you should help him. Are we going to need additional weapons? What are we doing for food? That sort of thing. Kali, you're the ship-expert. How fast can you have that other ship ready to go? I can help you if you'd like, but for the most part I feel as if I should stay out of the way with my new... challenge to deal with."
She paused as she wondered how to word the last part. "Lastly, I believe most of us have felt the darkness that's been disturbing the Force. We need to be aware that this trip will be dangerous. We absolutely need to be prepared for whatever is going to happen next. We can't be dilly-dallying about anymore. Our mission is a serious one."
Taking control for the moment helped Kvotha feel like she was in control despite her lack of sight. The darkness that she saw with her eyes opened felt like it was eating at her, closing in on her mind and suffocating her. Yet, at the same time, her other senses were already responding to her loss of sight. Sounds seemed sharper, more audible. Smells that she usually ignored were now almost cloying. And the power of the Force seemed even closer to the fingertips of her mind, tremulously waiting for her to reach out and use it. Nevertheless, she was momentarily terrified.
"Is there anything else?" She asked, turning her thoughts back to the others.

Darius took a deep breath to steady himself. He felt guilty, and blamed himself, at least partially, for Kvotha's blindness, whether it be permanent or temporary. Regardless, he couldn't dwell on it now; he had to get them ready. He also had felt a dark and terrible power, something immensely strong in the Dark Side, now living on Dxun. He wondered, with a shiver, it this presence was related to his dream.
"Alright," he said, standing. "Let's get things moving. Jeraldi, would you please begin transferring our supplies to the new ship? And Kali, I believe a quick inspection of the new ship would you do well, at least to become familiar with its layout and design; you'll likely be piloting her. I'll see what I can do about additional weapons and combat gear; something that can withstand lightsaber strikes will be good to have."
Turning back to Kvotha, Darius frowned and narrowed his eyes. He wasn't an expert on the Force or its numerous applications, but he knew of something that could help Kvotha function more normally. Kneeling, he touched her on the shoulder to draw her attention. "Kvotha," he began, taking a breath to steady himself again. "I've heard of a Force technique that allows those gifted with the Force to see using it, though they are blind in the eye. If you give me a few moments, I'll see if I can find it for you. I've only slightly touched upon it myself, but I know it can be done." Mostly because I can partially do it myself, he thought.

Jeraldi sighed as the others told him of the dark force they felt. He had felt it a long while back and he couldn't quite put a finger on it, but he knew he had felt it before. He felt depressed when kvotha told of her blindness. "I do believe it is only temporary. And yes, I have heard of this same technique. There is actually a little science involved in it. Darius, would you like to explain or shall I?" He asked turning to him as they prepared to load the new ship.

Darius stood and turned to Jeraldi. "I can explain. We should get things moved over to the other ship so we can leave soon. I want to be on Dxun by mid-day."
Turning away, Darius headed quickly for his belongings, what few there were, and the holocron he had found that had taught him some of its technique.

Jeraldi nodded his head as he turned in the direction of the ship, vanishing into thin air.

Kali nodded toward Kvotha. What happened? Was she okay? "I'll get to work on that ship right away," she said. "You do whatever you need to do, Kvotha." She turned to Darius. "I will get familiar with the ship, just give me your instructions." A hint of a smile appeared on her lips.

Zane sat on the roof and shook his head. This was not going the way he had hoped. The stupid girl wasn't supposed to try to scan the whole ship, they were supposed to trust him and Kali. He shook his head as he felt a familiar force. "So, you're here too huh? It doesn't surprise me." he said with a smile.

Darius looked over at Kali as he sifted through his meager belongings. "I thought I did? Check out the ship, make sure it's ready to leave in less than two hours."
The holocron cradled safely in his hands, Darius returned to Kvotha. "Here you go," he said, taking her hands and placing the ancient artifact within her fingers. "Just listen. It will explain it all to you. Perhaps you will be able to grasp its techniques better than I could."
