Kvotha watched Darius go, still mulling over their words. She hoped that her and Jeraldi were right and Darius would be able to improvise and learn as he went. She would feel absolutely terrible if anything happened because they hadn't taught him something simple.
Sighing in slight worry, Kvotha decided to follow Darius and see what he was up to.

Darius paced in a circle around the ship, looking for something he could use. The idea that had flashed in his mind wasn't anything spectacular, but it was something different. He had learned some basics, like lifting, pushing, and pulling objects with the Force. Perhaps there was a way to combine them, to mix the ideas behind each technique into something different.
"That should do," he said, seeing a small crate that looked slightly decayed from exposure to the planet's modest atmosphere. Standing calmly and closing his eyes, Darius focused on the crate and the Force. He pictured what he wanted to happen in his mind, replayed it over and over until he could see exactly what he wanted. Opening his eyes, he let his breath out in a long exhalation.
Sharply reaching out his left hand towards the crate, Darius willed the Force to do as he commanded. Immediately, the crate lifted five feet up into the air, then exploded in a cloud of pale blue lightning and debris. The pieces of the crate flew in all directions, reaching up higher than the topmost level of the hanger, some pieces even landing outside. As he exploded the crate, a sudden thought struck him. He forgot to direct the pieces away from him and the ship. In the blink of an eye, he focused on the Force and sent out a wave as large as the ship, sending the pieces sailing towards him flying out the top of the hanger.
"That," he mumbled, catching his breath. "Could have been very bad."
He squinted up at the debris slowly falling back down. Cursing, he reached for the Force again and directed the objects to land around the hanger, to prevent them from hitting him or the ship.
He stood straight and brushed dust from his clothing. He felt exhausted, yet strangely excited. He wanted to try it again, to see just how much he could control, to see if he could control the very size of the blast.
"You almost hit my ship!" came a female voice he recognized, intruding on his thoughts.
"I'm sorry, Kali," he said, turning to see the Cathar near fuming. He shrugged and smiled. Kali shook her head and turned on her heels, heading back into her ship.

Jeraldi laughed he as appeared from nowhere in front of Darius where seconds ago he had been in the ship. "That, my friend, was impressive!" He said with excitement. "I need to see that again." He said, using the force to bring over half of a tree, sitting it down in front of them. He then used the force to create three separate force fields around he, Darius, and the ship. "Again." Jeraldi said with a huge smile.

Darius smiled at Jeraldi, then turned to the rather large log. He frowned. It was a significantly larger object, and thus could have a much larger explosion. But did he want a big, showy boom, or something more subtle yet equally effective.
Closing his eyes, Darius pictured the same thing as before. But instead of unleashing his will, he held it, shaping the explosion further. In a manner of mere seconds that felt like days, Darius had exactly what he wanted.
Opening his eyes with a grunt of effort, he lashed out his hand. The tree exploded in a tightly controlled flash of orange lightning. Instead of the pieces flying everywhere, Darius directed them to the far wall in a smooth transition from violent explosion to controlled flight.
"How's that?" Darius asked, turning to Jeraldi. The words, "Arbor Boom" stood out on the wall, composed of hundreds of large wooden splinters.

Jeraldi laughed at Darius' humor. "Perfect." He exclaimed as he released the force fields. "Anyone can make a big explosion, it takes much more skill to control a blast and make it do what the yielder wants it to do. See what I mean by learning as you go?" Jeraldi asked smiling as he removed the splinters from the wall and put them in a nice pile using the force. He then created a force field around the pile as he made the splinters burst into flames using spontaneous combustion. Bright lights lit up the area as a showboat of colors erupted from the pile. "The force isn't all about brute strength and explosions, though. There is a softer side, a more vivid and magnificent aurora, that, if one doesn't learn to master, or one decides that it is useless, can lead to a persons demise."

Zane smiled as he saw a chance to make a big impression on the two fighters standing below him. Calling on the Force, he felt the flames down below, and shifted them to the color green and started spelling out a sentence, slowly, so it wouldn't be missed. "I'm always watching you, and if you need help, and you will, you but have to ask. Nothing is true, everything is permitted." Zane smile as he added his own personal creed to the message, making sure that he could indeed be found. He took the flames and made them flare up until it was too bright to look at directly and quickly made his escape from the roof, going to get another cup of his favorite tea.

Jeraldi read the strange message being spelled over his fire. He laughed momentarily, deciding not to get pissed that someone had messed up his showmanship. He had known someone had been following them, he could feel the force coming from another being, every now and then. This guy wasn't trying to hide his force, but he seemed to make to "too" obvious at times. He sighed as he turned to Darius. "I don't know who this person is, but we have no time to waste on him. If he wants to make himself known, he should do it. Otherwise we need to get a move on, it's nearly dinner time anyway."

"You're right," Darius said, waving his hand and extinguishing the flames. "Besides," he continued, a grin on his lips, "it was just a bunch of hot air."
Darius turned towards the ship and went inside. Jeraldi was right, it was dinner time, and his stomach agreed.

Jeraldi turned with Darius as they headed back towards the ship. Jeraldi stepped inside as he shouted "What's for dinner?! I'm starving!" His eyes wide with excitement at the thought of food.

Kvotha had watched Jeraldi and Darius practice using the Force for only a moment before she turned back inside the ship. Alone, she decided to explore the inner workings of Kali's treasured machine. She let her hands wander over particular items and let the Force bring the memories of them to her smoothly. The first thing she touched was the door - which gave her an idea of the sort of people who had taken rides with Kali.
"She's a good person," Kvotha mused as she moved around the ship, caressing different items. She almost felt a spark of guilt as she received images of the past - some with Kali in them and some without. It was almost like spying. "I'm just getting a sense of the people whose hands I may be putting my life in." She muttered to herself. It was a small justification though.
In the cockpit, a memory of Darius and Kali and a frog melded itself into her mind. She let out a giggle as she watched Kali let out a 'rawr' and pounce on the thing. "A good person, indeed," Kvotha nodded to herself, feeling safer now that she new a bit more about Kali at least. Darius also seemed like someone she could trust. He had the right sort of morals about him as he had proved when he asked the surly man earlier to pay Kvotha for her repairs. Jeraldi seemed to be okay, so far. She wasn't as sure about him.
And then there was the silver-haired man earlier, who she had instinctively wanted to touch to get a read off him. She wasn't sure at all why he was hanging around them, keeping his distance but always there at the boundaries, hovering. It sort of reminded her of a guardian angel. No, Kvotha shook the thought from her head. She had no idea who the man was. Only that he was trailing them. Perhaps she should try to corner him and ask him?
With a final glance around the ship, Kvotha walked back outside. She decided to follow the hum of the mysterious man's Force, letting it guide her like a crumb trail.

Zane smiled as he felt himself being trailed. "So they finally got curious enough to come find me. Wonder which one it is....I'm sure it's the one that can find memories.....now how do I go about doing this?" he thought to himself. He looked around and tried to find something that would mark it as his, but not able to stand out. He finally grabbed a brick and inscribed an upside down V on it, figuring that it would stand out. He placed his brick beside the table he was sitting at and then left the cafe. The brick and his tea cup should be enough for them to get a sense of who he was without giving too much away or even giving his intentions away. He then called on his inner peace and hid the fact that he could use the Force and melded into the crowd, finding a position to watch his follower.

Darius mumbled something impolite as Kvotha left the ship to go about something of her own, leaving only himself, Jeraldi, and Kali to tend to dinner. One short wasn't bad, but Darius wasn't too sure on Jeraldi's cooking abilities, nor Kali's.
"This should be interesting," he said, then realized he didn't really know anything about Kvotha's cooking either. He smiled and headed towards the small kitchen in the mess room. "What do you think, Jeraldi?" he asked, scratching his chin. There were various assortments of meats and poultry from a wide range of planets, as well as many herbs and spices Darius had never heard of.

Jeraldi smiled as he looked at the uncooked food in front of him. "I use the force for almost everything. So, I'm not sure about this cooking thing." He said smiling. "And don't worry about Kvotha, she's just out searching for the silver haired man." He said as he continued to look at the food. "What are we going to do?" He said sighing.

Darius just shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. I'm not much one for cooking either," he said. Kali seemed to be content doing anything, wandering around her ship. Darius looked back to the food and decided on something plain and easy: bread and meat.

As she walked, Kvotha suddenly lost track of the trail. She looked around in surprise, but saw nothing out of sorts. The silver-haired man was out of sight. Shrugging, she glanced around for any physical signs of his trail. After wandering around for a few minutes, she found an abandoned cup and brick on a table at a crowded cafe. She walked up to it slowly, suspiciously regarded the brick that had an upside-down V on it. Hesitantly, she picked up the brick and was hit out of nowhere with a strong memory of the silver-haired man writing on it. The feelings in the memory were strong enough for her to realize that the man had intentionally left these clues for her to find. Kovtha let herself smile wryly as she searched the crowd again. Nothing.
Sighing, she admitted to herself that she would have to live with the fact that he didn't want to be found yet. At least she knew that he didn't seem to want to harm them. Smelling the tantalizing scents coming from the cafe, Kvotha's stomach rumbled in hunger. Might as well go back to the ship and get some food, she thought to herself grudgingly. She swallowed her disappointment and began walking back to the ship, still watching the crowd warily, almost invitingly.
