"Iridonia," said Kali. "I haven't been there before." She caught up, and walked alongside him now. "And at least you knew your father. A spice merchant? He kept you alive, and your family, that justifies it in my book. Tattoine's full of criminals, it's nice to know some so-called criminals somewhere aren't doing it because they want to. I was sold into slavery at a young age to a Hutt on Tattoine. He was a good master, he recognized my talents and helped me develop them, even though they were for his benefit. I don't remember where I came from, or if there were any others like me where I came from. Anyways, my childhood was basically do as your told, criminal or otherwise. I escaped after my old master lost me betting on a pod race. I...well, let's just say he didn't treat me as kindly." She lowered her eyes, and fingered a long scar on her forearm absentmindedly, remembering how she'd learned that every slave had a locator placed somewhere in their bodies, and how she'd dug hers out after a failed escape attempt. "I used to race pods. I was good at it. It helped tame my unruliness that's apparently a trait of my species."

Jeraldi slowly stepped off of his ship on to Onderon, the blistering heat beating down on his long black hair. "I can't take this heat!" He cried viciously as he pulled his cloak over his head. Jeraldi prefered the cold temperatures, but when money presented itself, he would go to wherever it was he was needed. He had been summoned upon for a job, the specifics of which were apparently classified information until he reached Onderon and met up with someone by the name of Darius. Jeraldi normally would be more skeptical, but the money was too good to refuse. Unfortunately, Jeraldi had no idea of how to get in contact with Darius and decided it was a good idea to travel on foot. The people of Onderon weren't too keen on outsiders, not that he cared, but he didn't feel like getting into a scuffle. Jeraldi was more of a loner, there were only a few people in the universe he actually cared about and he mostly enjoyed keeping to himself, so the ignorance of the people here didn't bother him one bit. Hoping that Darius had some means of feeling the force, Jeraldi decided to stop concealing his aurora. He didn't feel threatened by these naive people at all. Before setting off he camouflaged his ship for safe keeping and then began walking towards the nearest village through the woods.

Darius was listening to Kali, he really was. But something tickled at the back of his mind, some kind of faint blip on his Force sensitive radar he couldn't place exactly. Interesting, he thought, turning down a corner to put his path in the mental direction of the newcomer.
"You were a slave?" Darius asked, looking around. Several humans glared at him; he only smiled back and nodded his horned head towards them. "You seem to have turned out well, perhaps even grown from your experiences. After all, you have skills and abilities now that you may not have learned or developed otherwise. But, there's always bad with the good, right?"
He was just talking, his eyes somewhat distant, his thoughts wandering. He kept his mind locked down, keeping his own Force presence as cloaked as he could. But he was no master or lord, there were weak links in his mental defenses that he knew he needed to work on. But he still did his best.

Kali sensed it after she finished speaking. Darius had a gift with the Force, and he had sensed something. She could tell by reading his body language. If there was something around her, she would have noticed, her senses were very attuned to the world around her.
"What is it?" she asked in a low voice, hoping his hearing was as good as hers was. She couldn't feel it at all, so she had to rely on others to feel it for her. She knew it was there, though.
"That's very sweet of you to say that," she said in her normal volume. The last thing they needed to do now was attract more attention if Darius sensed danger.

Kvotha stood at the edge of the courtyard, shifting uncomfortably in the heat as she listened to her current employer complain about her Kiffar side. She had just finished repairing one of his droids and had sought him out for payment. Unfortunately, he hadn't been aware of her race before he had hired her.
"When Selhar told me he knew someone who was actually talented at repairing droids, I was excited. But no one told me she was a half-breed." He sneered, glaring at the swirl of tattoos across her nose. "I've half a mind to keep your payment from you. Who knows what you did to my RX pilot droid? Humans can't trust anyone but humans. I'm sick of you dirty, good-for-nothing types coming around here--"
"Sir, sir. Please listen," she started out calmly, wiping a line of sweat off her forehead.
"I'm not going to listen to the likes of you, no way. I can't believe the nerve you have, coming here..." He kept complaining and Kvotha patiently tuned him out. Some people just didn't have the kind of mind ready to accept others. That was okay with her, you really couldn't blame someone's upbringing and ignorance. Perhaps he would learn later in life. She let out a soft sigh, worried for him.
"Really, how could Selhar even think to let me hire a hybrid? Did he not notice the obvious tattoos on her face? They're right across her ugly little nose." His face began to turn red with the effort of his anger. She let out a second sigh, realizing that her trip to Onderon was in vain. As much as she needed the pay, it seemed as if this man needed to retain his pride and calm down.
"Sir," she interrupted his tirade. "Just forget about the payment. Don't worry about it. I'll let you be on your way." She gave a quick bow, and turned on her heel, leaving him sputtering behind her.

Darius nodded to Kali. "Hopefully someone who can help us," he told her, feeling the blip in his radar getting closer.
A commotion nearby caught his eye. A woman, non-human by her looks, turned sharply away from a puffing man. Darius could nearly see the steam pouring from his head in his anger. Changing direction, Darius headed over to the woman and man.
"Excuse me," he said, raising a hand to catch the woman's attention. He then faced the man. "I believe you owe this young lady a payment, sir. Are you unsatisfied with the quality of her work? Perhaps you can inspect it then give her payment."

Jeraldi continued walking gingerly hoping that Darius would pick up on his Force. "Ah, there we go." Jeraldi said as he could feel the slight spark of a force signal. "There can't be that many people around here with a force as large as this one, it has got to be Darius." Jeraldi said as he changed course. Suddenly it was gone again. "Wow, he is concealing his force from me. And yet, his force signal is still relatively huge." Jeraldi said sitting on a log unable to trace the source anymore. "This guy must be pretty tough." Jeraldi said with a smile of anticipation. "I wonder what race he is."

Kali stood firmly at Darius' side, giving the man one of her fierce looks. She would say nothing, but she would back him up if need be. Especially if the woman who left could help them. She took a sideways glance at her. Hmmm...maybe she'd do more good talking to her. She might get overly passionate if he'd been consistently treating this woman as a slave.
Kali made sure to glare at the man before she followed after the woman. "Hey," she called. "Come back! You got a name?"

Kvotha stopped short as a man threw up his arm and gestured at her. A woman beside him called out to her. She glanced back at her angry employer, unsure. She was ready to let the matter go. Especially since he looked even angrier, if that was possible.
"I will not tolerate this sort of treatment from non-humans," he spat out. He glared at them as meanly as he could. In truth, Kvotha could sense the fear emanating from him.
"It's all right, I already told him he could forget about the payment," she said to the Iridonian man. At this, her employer actually spat at their feet.
"Good riddance to you awful people," he shook his head and started walking away in anger.
"Well, at least he had the decency to walk away." Kvotha laughed lightly and turned to the two newcomers. "Thank you for trying to help." She threw the woman a half-smile. "As for the name? I do, in fact, have one. You can call me Kvotha, though the Jedi know me as Cloudspinner. What may I call you?

Kali spat right back at the man, as well as threw a couple of colorful metaphors she'd learned on her runs, saying somewhere a long speech about how all people deserved to be treated equally, but she felt like she didn't properly express herself. She'd never been treated this way. She took a deep breath, and let it go, she knew when she wasn't getting anywhere, although she hated not to get what she wanted.
"I'm Rajani Kali," she said, brushing her short hair out of her face. She hoped her feline appearance didn't frighten the girl.

Darius smiled at Kvotha. Though he wasn't associated with the Sith, he still felt a little uncomfortable around someone affiliated with the Jedi.
"My name is Darius," he said, making sure to keep a tight reign of his Force; it was strangely difficult. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kvotha. Are you interested in employment? From what I could gather, you are rather adept at repairing droids. I think I could use someone of your talents on my expedition."
Darius caught sight of someone moving nearby and his radar peaked.

Jeraldi stood up as he felt the force from Darius once more. "It seems as if he is having difficulty concealing it." Jeraldi said aloud as he started in the direction of the force. Jeraldi could only feel it in spurts, but it was enough to keep him walking on the right path. Suddenly he approached what appeared to be the end of the woods and the entrance to a tiny village, people walking this way and that. "Now how am I to find him with all these people walking about?" Jeraldi thought to himself as he searched. "I'm not even sure of what this man looks like."

"It's wonderful to meet you both," Kvotha suddenly felt shy. She lowered her eyes momentarily, struggling with the emotion.
Finally she looked back to Darius, realizing what he had said. "Employment? Well, ah, I... I guess I'm not in a position to turn down whatever you have to offer." She hesitated, feeling conflicted. Ultimately her pride kept her tongue from revealing her desperateness. "Can you tell me more about this expedition? Where is your destination?"
As she asked this, her eyes flitted across the village, noting a newcomer looking around in confusion. "Is that the man you're searching for, Darius?"

Darius smiled at Kvotha, nodding at her words. "I believe it is, but I'm sure he will find me soon," he said, letting his control over his power slip slightly so he would light up briefly like a becon. I like games, he thought. "Our destination is Dxun. The purpose must remain confidential until we are landed I'm afraid."
He had to remind himself that he was talking to a Jedi, who may not like him poking his nose into Ancient Sith and Jedi artifacts. But regardless, he may need the support.
While talking to Kvotha, he kept the newcomer in the corner of his vision, constantly watching his movements. He looked to be a Force user, so the brief spike in his own powers could lead the man to him.

Jeraldi quickly turned his head in the direction of a force spike. Obviously Darius knew he was here now and was letting him know. He smiled humorously. "This guys playing with me!" He said to himself as he began to walk towards 3 people standing together. "Hmph, figures it would be the only non-humans around here. I'm losing my touch." He said as he approached them. "Greetings, I'll assume the the only male of the group is Darius?" He said with a smile, extending his hand. "I'm Jeraldi."
