Darius sighed and turned away, looking about at the trees. "Yes, I did not trust you and now a friend is hurt. However, given my past experiences with mysterious characters it's reasonable to have acted the way I did. I still don't trust you, Zane, but neither do I fear a knife in the dark." Darius turned and smiled at the Echani. "If you were to kill me, it'd be during the day, and you'd tell me to my face. Nevertheless, we need to put past events behind us and figure out what this Matthias character is doing here, and how we are going to stop him. Already it's quite clear to me that in order for my original mission to continue, he must be dealt with."

"I know what he's here for, and it's not part of your original plan, but if you chose to help me, then I can get whatever you want. Where is the girl, she's in Force shock, I can help her, there's still time. Bring her here or take me to her." Zane said, waving toward the ship. "Oh, and you're right, IF I were to kill you, it'd be in the middle of the day and you'd be aware of my intentions, not that you could stop me either way."

Darius grinned. "You have your little tricks and surprises, Zane, and so do I. Don't be overconfident. But yes, she's aboard the ship. I've given her some initial guidance on seeing through the Force until we can come up with a more definite plan."
Turning to look at all the trees and forest around them, Darius sighed. "This little expedition I planned is turning out to be much more . . . trying than I had first imagined," he said, talking half to himself. He chuckled. "I had expected to find a few ruined bases, maybe a destroyed ship, with nothing but debris and vegetation inside. So much for simple childish hopes."

Jeraldi sighed as they began the trip back to the ship. "We have to prepare ourselves if we plan to attack Matthais. We can't go into battle without letting everyone know what we're up against and we have to plan for his attacks." Jeraldi said as he thought to himself. "This could be the place that I die, I don't see Matthais sparing me a second time. Especially after my betrayal."

"Don't worry about being on the front line against him Jeraldi, that's my battle, and mine alone. Darius, you'll get your ruins and puzzles, but do not forget, childish hopes are what make bright futures. There is a time that every Padawan must grow into a Knight." Zane said, walking up to the ship. "Now, if you'll leave me be, I'll go and heal our friend."

"Yeah, go ahead," Darius said, motioning towards the ship. "She wont be hard to find."
Darius turned and walked a short distance away from Zane and the ship, trying to clear his head. "I never was a Padawan," Darius said to himself, reflecting on Zane's words. "I never had a chance to have that kind of childhood."
Darius' past slowly went through his mind. All those times when his father returned home, only to leave the next day; when Darius would spend weeks out in the wastes of his homeworld, searching for wreckage or some lost technology; when other kids would pick on him for his oddities; when his frustration with his father and the other kids would grow too much and he would wander again into the wastes and destroy whatever he could, just to relieve the tension.
Looking up at the trees, Darius sighed and sat down on a fallen log. "I'm not even in your Padawan/Knight hierarchy."

Zane walked up to the girl who was sitting here holding the Holocron. He stared at her and told her to not worry. Zane placed his hands to her temples and used the Force to guide him to see what exactly was wrong. He saw the severed nerves and connections that should've been, and slowly, agonizingly slow, he started to heal the connections. After a few hours, Zane finished, but before Kvotha opened her eyes, he tied a piece of thin cloth around her head. "You can't open your eyes for a while, but you should be able to tell a difference in the light. In a day or so, your eyes will be adjusted and everything will be like normal." and with that explanation, he walked back to the kitchen and made himself some food, it was his afterall, and walked outside to cook the meat over a fire. He then sat there and began meditating to regain strength. "You're in the Jedi ranks, whether you recognize it or not, Padawan." he said before he sat at the fire.

Kali looked up from her place in the cockpit, shaking the trance that normally came with flying. Despite this trance-like state, her reflexes still remained as sharp as ever.
She stood up, realizing she'd forgotten to flex her legs. No matter, they'd be all right in a moment. Bending down, she grabbed her ankles and touched her nose to her knees, and then sprung back in the other direction into a bridge. She felt the blood coursing through her body, as she grabbed her ankles and rolled onto her stomach, and then sprung up in a sudden burst of energy this exercise normally gave her. Time to check on the others.
A quick glance around and a poking feeling in her gut told her that the ship was empty, so she went outside to check on the others. She immediately saw Zane next to a fire, and took a seat next to him.
"Hi!" she said with almost too much energy. She tried to control it, but in reality, it was best to wait it out. A sudden energy rush to her tired brain normally translated to others around her as one word: ANNOYING.

Jeraldi sat down on a mound he happened to find nearby, meditating over all that had happened. He sat motionless as he tried to decide whether fight or flight was a better idea in this case. There was no doubt that he was scared out of his wits, he wasn't afraid of dying, he was more afraid of what Matthais could do to him BESIDES kill him. He could enslave him, trance him, torture him if he wasn't strong enough to overcome. "What would Firestar do?" He asked himself aloud as he thought, knowing full well the answer to the question. "She would fight, with everything she has, and she would win." He thought, thinking back to the good ole days, where everything was simple. He knew what he had to do now, he had to meditate and heal his body. He had to fight for his life and to ensure his freedom. And so finally deciding what he was going to do, he walked off to train.

Darius stood and looked around with determination. He wasn't a Padawan. He wasn't a Knight. He wasn't a Master. But he didn't care, he would fight and prove himself worthy to wield the Force. After all, all the training he'd done, all the years spent wandering and being alone had been spent preparing for a time when he might have to use his power to fight and kill. Now was the time.

Zane opened his eyes to see Kali sitting beside him. "Hello my dear, sorry that I don't have any drinks like at the bar we were at." he told her, stretching his legs. Darius still didn't understand his heritage, but maybe soon he would understand. Zane needed a new apprentice, and this Padawan would be perfect, but he needed to approach Zane, not the other way around.

"That's just fine," said Kali, smiling. She noticed him eyeing Darius. Hmmm...must be that Force stuff. She often wondered what it was like to have that extra...sense? Limb? She finally settled with "thing."
She looked Zane in the eye, and then shifted them from Darius to Zane a couple of times, hoping he got the message. She was really at a loss for words right now, despite feeling unnaturally bubbly.

Jeraldi walked off into the wilderness, not knowing how he was going to train or with what. He decided to begin with his saber movements. He quickly and gracefully removed his light-saber from his holster while simultaneously igniting it's spark. He began to move it with such fluidity through the air twisting it this way and that. He had been especially well trained in swordsmanship in his early years and that was one of his specialties. He began to run, chopping and spinning his light-saber through the wind as he jumped, flipped, and disappeared into thin air. The fear that he had once felt had become anger, and that anger was beginning to take over him and he could feel himself wanting to embrace the dark side like he had once done. He stopped in mid swing and took several deep breaths, coming back to reality and calming himself down. He sat down nearby and began to meditate, regaining his energy and focusing his mind. He thought of the good ole days and began to become happy, tears running down his face as his emotions began to swarm in his mind. He levitated himself off of the ground and became relaxed. "I'm prepared to die," he told himself calmly, "If it comes to that."

"Let's see how good you are with that light saber of yours Darius." Zane said, taking a cue from Jeraldi. He could sense the Jedi in the woods and smiled when he felt him stop the Dark Side. "Good, he can control himself." Zane thought to himself. Zane didn't make a move to get up, but threw his lightsaber into the air and ignited it with the Force. This was a mental exercise for him, and a physical and mental for Darius.

Darius stood and pulled the lightsaber from his holster with the Force, igniting it before it reached his hand. "If you wish," he said, taking a defensive stance. "I haven't really had any real practice or training with this, so doing so now would be good."
