Darius readied himself as Zane prepared for attack. "Now, I'm not going to go easy on you!" Zane shouted as he sent his lightsaber hurling towards Darius. It was so fast that Darius was barely able to dodge it. "Woah!" Darius shouted as he prepared for another attack. "Relax Darius, if I wanted to hit you, you'd be dead already." Zane said with a presumptuous smile. "Don't be so sure!" Darius shouted back with a smile as he began the attack on the unmanned light-saber. "This feels a bit ridiculous!" Darius said as he used all of his energy to fiend of it's attack. "This is the mental part of the practice for you. It's harder for you to read the attacks when there isn't a person physically guiding them that you can study." Zane said as he began his attack again. Darius, panting heavily and sweating bullets, had to use all of his might to block Zane's light-saber. All of a sudden a huge bolder came hurling towards Darius as he just barely got out of the way of it's trajectory while still fighting the light-saber. "Very nice!!" Zane exclaimed as he continued his attack. "How'd you know I'd be able to dodge that?!" Darius asked as he began to gain the upper-hand on the light-saber. "I didn't!" replied Zane with a coy smirk. "You're better than I thought you were." Zane said as he began to breath a little heavier than he had expected to. "Time to turn up the heat!" He shouted as he used the force to unearth rock. He hurled thousands of rocks at Darius while he still had to fend off the light-saber. It took everything that Darius had to dodge the rocks and the light-saber simultaneously until he finally fell to his knees form exhaustion. Zane finally stopped his attack. "Very impressive, Darius, but we have a lot more work to do. Lets take a break to strengthen our minds." Zane said as he sat down on the demolished earth below them.

Darius wiped his brow and extinguished his lightsaber. "Thanks," he said, slowly regaining his breath. His muscles were warm and exhausted, but he felt good. "I haven't worked like that in a long time." Darius sat down closer to Zane and closed his eyes, beginning to meditate.

Zane nodded his head and meditated with Darius, replenishing his strength with the Force. While meditation, his hand slowly slipped towards Kali's, seeing if she noticed and took it.

Kali was a little hesitant to take Zane's hand. Did he mean to, during his meditation? She decided to take the plunge, and gently, so as not to disturb him, wove her fingers with his.

"I guess people can meditate on different things," Darius said with a chuckle, closing his eyes again and focusing on his inner self.
His thoughts were a jumble, swirling this way and that in what seemed like an effort to confuse him. He felt the anger and frustration growing within him at the familiar denial of his own mind. It was aggravating to Darius that his own mind would so reject him, would so try to confuse him. Ever since he was a child, meditation had always been difficult for him. It was near impossible for Darius to completely shut out the world around him and focus on himself, on his thoughts, particularly because his thoughts so often alluded him.
Taking a steadying breath, Darius pushed his anger and frustration to the side, knowing it would only make it worse. He called upon the Force, using it to slowly calm himself, to bring a sense of peace to his mind. As he did so, the jumble of his thoughts began to slow until Darius could nearly recognize some of them. He would glimpse one, but then it would vanish and he would forget what it was he saw.
One image remained, however. No matter how many times Darius held it in his mind, it floated away, but he did not forget it. It remained floating within his thoughts, drifting and wandering behind other, mundane thoughts and images. But he knew it was there, waiting. Lurking. Like a child's terror, it waited in the back of his mind, taunting him and threatening to explode into crystal clear reality, just as deadly and frightening as the figure it represented.
"This battle is not over," he whispered in his mind, pushing aside other thoughts to focus again on the allusive horror of his past, his future.

Jeraldi finally grew hungry, and tired of meditating. He got up from his stance and decided it was time to find something to eat. He went back to the ship to see the others meditating as well, and noticed that darius was having a tough time staying concentrated. He walked into the ship and grabbed some food and then proceeded to take a seat beside the others.

Zane smiled as he got up to get food. "I believe our friend Jeraldi has the right idea." he said, getting off the ground and helped Kali up, putting his arm around her. "What do we have to eat?"

Darius opened his eyes and saw everyone entering the ship for food. Not wanting to give up the battle he had just entered within himself, Darius closed his eyes and again focused on the fleeting images within his mind.
The image coalesced as he focused on it, once blurry shapes becoming defined and clear. Colors began to appear next. Dark hues slowly turned into blues, blacks, greens, and browns. Lighter hues became vivid whites, yellows, pale blues and greens, oranges, and reds. Individual characters began to form from the clouded blocks. People walking slightly bent, as if carrying a great burden, wandered in and out of the memory. Other, taller figures stood their ground, their countenances threatening and oppressive.
"What are you?" he asked aloud as more of the image became clear. "A memory? A premonition? An illusion?"

Jeraldi sensed that Darius was struggling inside of himself. He grabbed a bite to eat and proceeded outside to sit beside Darius where he put his hand on Darius' shoulder. This was in an effort to help Darius clear his mind of impurities, so that he could focus his attention solely on what it was he was trying to see. "Relax, take deep breaths, and clear your mind."

Kali gently placed her hand on Zane's back and followed him. She didn't speak, though, as she began to get drowsy. She could hold on for a meal, but after that, she'd probably go to bed. Suddenly, all the blood drained out of her head and she began to collapse.

Zane reached out and caught Kali as she fell. "Hmm....guess she's exhausted" he said, after looking her over with the Force. He wasn't a medic with the Force, but he could generally find wounds with it. He laid her on her bed and walked back out, turning the lights off.

Kali awoke from her faint just as Zane walked out. Embarrassing. She couldn't believe she'd just...ARRRGH!
"Zane?" she said, her voice a little weaker than she meant it to be. What was happening to her? She'd flown for long periods of time and had never fainted. Her body was fine, she felt fine...what was it?

Darius sighed and opened his eyes, looking at Jeraldi. "I've tried. Every time I relax, this one image just floats around in the background, hiding behind other images and feelings. When I try to meditate, I feel at peace, yet I see so many different emotions and past experiences, and sometimes things I don't think have happened yet." He closed his eyes and focused again on the image, before it could fade again. "This one event is the key. I know it is; I can feel it. I'm almost there."
The scene returned to his mind's eye. Darius could see individual faces, now, those of the people hunched over. They looked gray and ashen, but he couldn't tell if it was from their species or from their living conditions; they were sad. The background started to clear up, next. It was rocky, and slightly gray but with small splashes of yellow and brown, like shrubs in a rocky terrain. He realized, almost stupidly, that the background was a rocky terrain. Like his homeworld. And the people looked like him; Iridorians in slavery. He frowned, puzzled. It wasn't something he remembered, yet he felt like he was there, like he had seen it. The perspective began to shift, as if the original viewer had turned its head. Walking towards him now, clear as he could ever be, was Darius' father, clothed like the tall ominous figures, his eyes shadowed but blazing with intensity; he had never seen his father look like that. "What are you?" he said in his mind. He was quite surprised when his father answered, "I was a Sith, Darius. But your mother, one of these slaves, turned me away from the Force. Where did you think I got you all those holocrons?"
Darius stood and shouted in terror at the horrendous smile splayed across his father's face. He looked around at the real, physical world, the image of his "father" still clear in his mind. Could it really have been his father? Or was it just some dark nightmare, some fear locked within his heart?

Jeraldi tried to calm Darius as he got up in a panic. "What was it? What did you see? It has to be the key to something." Jeraldi didn't know what was going on, but he could feel that Darius' images connected in some way, to something with the force.

Darius took deep breaths, trying to calm himself. He felt as if every muscle was screaming at him to fight something, to destroy. But the scary part was he knew how. Swallowing hard, Darius closed his eyes and focused on himself, pushing his rage, his desire for destruction, away.
"It was my father," he managed to say, though it came out more as a harsh whisper. "I saw my people, my race. They were slaves, though there were no shackles. And they were watched over by large hooded men. Then my father showed up, walking straight towards me. He talked to me, told me he used to be a Sith before he met my mother. He said it was how he was able to find holocrons for me when I was a child. He enjoyed oppressing our people. How could he ever think that?" Darius paused, then looked at Jeraldi. "How could he talk to me? He's been dead for years."
